The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries crammed the small, relaxed café. Sarah sat near the window, idly stirring her latte while scrolling through her phone. She were coming to this spot for months, appreciating its quiet appeal, in no way watching for whatever out of the regular to happen.

Across the café, James driven open the door, shaking off the cold February drizzle. He changed into walking overdue, as common, and had nearly skipped his morning espresso prevent. But the rain had satisfied him in any other case. He approached the counter, ordering his typical black coffee before turning around to find a seat.
