Horror Story: The Voice Behind the Door

Horror Story: The Voice Behind the Door at Midnight

Horror StoryHorror Story Introduction – The Night It Began

It was exactly 12:03 AM when Aarav first heard the knock.

Not too loud Not right now.

Just… slow. Deliberate.

Knock… knock…

Aarav sat up in his bed, his heart pounding. Other than that, the apartment was silent. He was by himself for the weekend because his parents were out of town.

He went to check his phone. No messages. No calls.

Again, the knock came.

Knock… knock…

This time, a voice came after me.

“Aarav… open the door.”

He had cold blood.

It sounded like a familiar voice. Too familiar.

It sounded like… his own.

Story Begins – The Door That Should Stay Closed

Aarav slowly arose from his bed. He felt like something was pulling him back with the weight of his legs.

He told himself in a whisper, “This isn’t real.”

However, the voice returned.

“Aarav… I know you’re inside.”

It now seemed impatient.

He walked toward the main door of his apartment. Each step echoed loudly in the quiet space. The lights flickered once.

He reached the door.

There was no shadow under it.

No movement.

Just silence.

Then—

“Aarav… don’t ignore me.”

As he reached for the handle, his hand began to shake.

However, something in him yelled—

Don’t open it.

Horror Story Twist – The Voice Knows Everything

“Why are you scared?” The gentle voice asked. “It’s only you.”

Aarav convulsed.

“How are you aware of my name?” He spoke low.

On the other side, there was a soft chuckle.

“I know everything about you.”

His breathing got shallower.

“Your childhood apprehensions, your secrets, even what you did this summer.”

Aarav’s mind raced. Nobody was aware of that.

No one.

The voice insisted that the door be opened. “Or I’ll just come in.”

Story Fear – The Reflection in the Mirror

The lights suddenly went out.

Darkness swallowed the room.

Aarav stumbled back and searched for his phone. As he turned on the flashlight, his hands shook.

The mirror across the room was hit by the light beam.
And he dropped the phone.

because he wasn’t in the reflection.

The reflection seemed to be happy.

A slow, unnatural smile.

After that—

The reflection lifted its hand.

However, Aarav had not moved.

Horror Story Terror – It’s Already Inside

There was no more knocking.

Right behind him, the whispered voice continued.

“You ought to have opened the door,” I said.

Aarav slowly turned around.

No one was there.

But the entrance—

The door was slightly open.

A single crack.

Cold air entered.

“I didn’t open it…” Aarav whispered.

“You didn’t have to,” the voice replied.

Story Climax – Face to Face

The door squeaked wider open.

And standing there…

Was Aarav.

Same face.

Same attire.

Similar eyes.

But darker.

Empty.

The other Aarav entered with a head tilt.

“You wasted time,” it said.

“I’ve been waiting.”

Aarav stepped back. “What do you mean?”

The figure flashed a grin across its face.

“I am what you tried to forget about me.”

Story Ending – No Escape

Aarav ran toward his bedroom, slamming the door behind him. His heart beat rapidly.

He grabbed his phone and dialed for help.

No signal.

Once more, the lights flickered. /
Then—

Knock… knock…

This time,…

From inside the room.

Aarav turned around slowly.

The closet door opened with a creak.

Darkness spilled out like smoke.

And the voice whispered one last time—

“Now… there is nowhere to run.”

The next morning, the neighbors reported something strange.

The door to Aarav’s apartment was wide open.

Everything inside was normal.

Except the mirror.

It was cracked.

And something sinister was written on it:

“I’m still here.”

Horror Story Moral – Some Doors Should Never Be Opened

Not every voice deserves an answer.

Not every knock requires a response.

Because sometimes…

The object outside the door is not attempting to enter—

It is trying to take your place.
